First Thursdays Returns to Downtown Arlington: Your July Guide to Live Music, Dance Parties & Foam Fun

From free dance classes to a foam party bus, downtown Arlington is heating up this summer with family-friendly events every first Thursday

Published June 25, 2026 · Arlington Events

Summer in Arlington just got a whole lot more exciting.

If you have not experienced First Thursdays in downtown Arlington yet, July 2nd is your perfect excuse to see what the buzz is about. This monthly evening celebration transforms the heart of our city into a vibrant hub of live music, artistic experiences, and local business specials—and this month is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

What Is First Thursdays?

Think of it as downtown Arlington's monthly block party. On the first Thursday of every month from 5-8pm, local businesses stay open late, musicians set up on street corners, and the entire district comes alive with energy. It is the kind of community gathering that reminds you why you chose to live here.

Best part? It is completely free to attend.

July Featured Attractions You Cannot Miss

This month's lineup includes something for everyone, from toddlers to adults looking to unleash their inner dancer.

Miss Persis Studio of Dance is hosting a completely free Open House Dance Party for all experience levels. Whether you have got a three-year-old who loves to twirl or you are an adult looking to try something new, there is a session for you. Parties run at 5:30pm for ages 3-6, 6:00pm for ages 7-12, and 6:30pm for ages 13 to adult. No registration required—just show up and get ready to move.

But that is not all. The Foam Party Bus is rolling into City Center Plaza in front of the Downtown Library to blast a mountain of sudsy, bubbly fun. Bring the whole family out to dance, play and dive through the foam. It is the ultimate way to cool off during a Texas summer evening.

Where to Fuel Up Before or After

First Thursdays is the perfect opportunity to explore downtown Arlington's incredible food and drink scene. Here are five local spots to check out while you are in the area:

Division Brewing — Arlington's first locally-owned craft brewery serves up small-batch beers in a laid-back atmosphere. Their patio is perfect for people-watching during First Thursdays.
The Tipsy Oak — This gastropub has become a downtown staple for good reason. Craft cocktails, an impressive whiskey selection, and elevated bar food make it a great pre-event dinner spot.
Hurtado Barbecue — Award-winning brisket and house-made sausages that have earned national recognition. Come hungry.
4 Kahunas Tiki Lounge — Transport yourself to a tropical paradise with expertly crafted tiki cocktails. The perfect spot to cool down after dancing.
Nehemiah Coffee Co. — If you need a caffeine boost to keep the evening going, this local roaster serves some of the best coffee in Arlington.

Mark Your Calendar

First Thursdays happens every month, but July's event promises to be something special with the foam party and dance open house. Events and specials are announced two weeks ahead of each gathering, so keep an eye on the Downtown Arlington website for updates.

Whether you are a longtime resident or new to the area, First Thursdays is your invitation to experience the best of what downtown Arlington has to offer. See you there.
